en avion

I translated for a Guatemalen man and helped him make it through the Cincinnati airport ticketing, customs, and terminals this morning (around 5am). It wasn´t too difficult, but I found that it slowed my English down because I was thinking in 2nd grade Spanish.

Everyone made it here okay and I´ll add updates later!

I'm not sure how often you're checking your email, but I have a blog now too.

also, this is really random, but what room in KL is the one where you bought the DrPepper?
p.s. I'm glad you made it there in one piece.

Tu es un bueno Samaritan. Estaba aqui por 2 dias y ya hablando in español como la secunda forma. Vas recibir mucho practicado, no?

(en ingles: You´re a good Samaritan, Pete. I´ve been here for 2 days and I´m still spaking second-grade Spanish. You´re going to get a lot of practice, right?)

Actually, I still don´t think that´s correct Spanish. But go you for helping that Guatemalan man through customs. Customs is scary.

Lol :) Gracias. It was slightly difficult to do using my Spanish - ¨This goes there, you go there, We have to walk here, You cannot have shoes,¨ and so on. I had the hardest time convincing him to stuff his shirt inside his carry-on. He had to take it out of his suitcase because the suitcase weighed too much, and he was going to throw it away because his duffel wouldn´t zip with it in there. Psssh. It just needs to be there during the security checkpoint ;)

I will be getting a lot of Spanish practice. I´m still in Managua, the capital, but my host family will not speak English. We´re with Vince´s host family right now (they don´t speak English either), so we´re beginning to practice.

I´m glad to be here in one piece :)

The Dr. Pepper is on the fifth floor of KL. If you´re looking at the front of the building, the room is on the right (west) side in about the middle of the hallway. It´s the ¨purchasing office¨ and it says so on the sign by the door. You can ask the people there or around there. They´ll be friendly.

After today, I´ll probably be checking this and my email one or two times every week.

ciao!
